I went in last tuesday and had 5 of my upper teeth yanked out... while awake
what an experience, specially when you take in the fact that I am scared of dentists.
i did it though, and had a partial made for up top. Its really hard to get used to. I have to relearn how to talk, eat, drink, swallow, and sleep on top of the sores on my gums and roof of my mouth.
so, I am halfway done with my teeth. Just the 5 on the bottom to go, and no partial there

which I am very happy about. I HATE sending money in the mail, but i could not pass up the $10 savings. Well, at least it got to its destination ok, and now my anni trip is paid for. Well, cept for the gas, but I am hoping gas will come down around that time so it wont be too bad.
I am also helping Ali sell Girl scout cookies, so if any of you Anni people want to have some when I get there let me know!!!

for a couple of things.
First up, my son turns 16 in 10 days. he wants an ipod touch. I told him there inst a chance in hell I could afford it, so now I am feeling a wee bit guilty for sending off the money for anni (which still isnt accounted for, which freaks me out) when that could have mostly paid for what he wants for his birthday. I don't like feeling selfish, and that knowledge makes me feel just that. So, I have to find a way to get him that ipod touch. I dunno how, but I need to do it to make myself feel ok with spending that money on me instead of him.
Next, getting ready for anni too. Trying to make sure all my ducks are in a row. Getting the car in good running order, making sure Jer gets the time off of work, trying to get myself emotionally ready, and finding a few extra dollars to sock away for the trip itself.
I am pretty nervous about driving myself. I dont travel very far alone cause I suck at navigation, and on top of it I will be driving Jeremys car. Its a stick, and I can barely drive a stick. I need to take it cause its got all wheel drive and is safer on winter trips than my pos chevy cavalier. I am terrified of winter driving... ever since my two accidents.
Lastly, getting ready for the hell that is girl scout cookie selling time. the only thing worse than the selling is the delivering :( . Cant help it though. Everyone loves girl scout cookies

Christmas was... snowy. lol, We were snowed in by a blizzard from christmas eve through the 26th. The roads are still terrible. Nothing but glare ice. Its ok though... its the first christmas I didnt have to spend the day making everyone else happy by driving all over the place and ending up home, exhausted, late that night. The kids opened their presents, we had breakfast, and everyone had time to just sit, relax, and enjoy their gifts. It was a pleasant change from the norm.
I finally went to see my family for the holidays just on new years eve. Stopped by, exchanged presents, and caught up. Went back to my sisters the next day, spent time with her family, and eventually a double date. My sister, her husband, Jeremy, and me all went to Sherlock Holmes. I liked it quite a bit, and so did my sister, but I dont think the guys were as keen on it. The popcorn made Jer queasy, and he had been snowmobiling all day so he was tired too, so that may have had an effect on his enjoyment.
All in all it was a nice way to spend a couple of days, and nothing was rushed, forced, or unpleasant.
So, how were your holidays? Did the New year ring in happily for you?

was volunteering for the salvation army today. From 9 this morning, to 5 this afternoon I was hefting very heavy boxes of frozen meat and helping to distribute lots and lots of food to the needy. Tomorrow is toys. 119 children in my community need toys, and we will help each and every one of them get a gift.
I also have share tomorrow, which is just more food distribution. Its a busy weekend, and I am really sore, but its a good sore. I feel happy knowing that we help

I put half the money for my anni ticket away today. I took 20 out of my savings, and got 40 for some stuff i sold to the pawn shop, and the last 15 came from my dad. He actually gave me 50, but I used most of it for groceries. Boy do kids eat a lot of cereal
so , only $75 left to come up with! yay!!

Got all my wrapping done, all the stocking stuff sorted and separated so I just gotta drop it into each stocking.
I get excited for christmas, i admit it. I am as bad as the kids! I don't get much sleep on christmas eve, and I love seeing their faces christmas morning. Watching them open gifts at 6 am is great, and letting them pass out while I start cooking is cool too. Then we go to my sisters house for dinner. We all bring food, and we all get a gift to open via a secret santa drawing on thanksgiving. If there is snow the kids go out and go sledding on a nearby hill.
It's a nice time with lots of happy kids and smiling adults. It makes me feel all kinds of cheerful and jolly and all that good shit.
I also sent out my last 2 tarvalon.net green xmas cards exchange cards today. Got everyone on the list, which also makes me happy.

i registered for Anni the other day, and it made me oh so happy! i will get to meet a ton of people I have been looking forward to meeting, and some of my least favorite people have yet to show up on the registration list so its fantastical!! There is gonna be a large Green contingent so I will have someone to talk to... which is good cause Jer and Syd are staying home this time.
I get the feeling I am gonna miss the hubby and kids a ton, but I should still be able to enjoy myself. I am gonna work on getting my blood pressure under control before then, in the hopes that I will be able to have a drink or two.
I am really excited for this party!
